Madison Campus

SMC’s satellite campus lights up the Arts! The SMC Performing Arts Center (on Santa Monica Blvd., between 10th & 11th Sts., Santa Monica) is home to SMC’s Music Department and to the Madison Project Foundation, a presenting and Arts Education foundation.
Construction continues on The Stage @ Santa Monica, the new 499-seat state-of-the-art concert hall. In Fall 2007, a black box rehearsal and performance space—Second Space—opened on the campus, along with the newly renovated classroom building.
The Madison Project Foundation is planning a September 2008 gala opening for The Stage, featuring legendary chanteuse Barbara Cook. The Madison Project will produce and present a full season, to begin in October 2008, with performances that include the baroque ensemble Musica Angelica, the Colburn Youth Orchestra, Lula Washington Dance, LA Opera’s Domingo-Thornton Young Artists, and the cutting edge chamber ensemble Jacaranda. Please visit our website (www.stagesm.org) for the latest updates.

Second Space
Second Space—located behind The Stage on the SMC Performing Arts Center campus (on Santa Monica Blvd., between 10th & 11th Sts., Santa Monica)—is a new performance and rehearsal hall dedicated to all Arts eclectic and powerful. It’s small. Intimate. And every time you walk into it, there are two things you can rely on: You will rarely experience being this up-close and personal with performance art, and what you see will aspire to break new ground.
